JACQUELYN HAZLE
Knowledge Exchange
I teach. I study. I learn.
In this section is everything regarding my research and education practices.

Research
My research interests fall into three categories, usually intersecting in some way.

Music composition: practice-as-research, text and libretti, the role of words in a composer's practice

Philosophy: music semiotics, intentionality and the composer

Theology: Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutics, sacred music in secular contexts
Teaching
All ages and levels are most welcome to inquire!

I am currently available for online lessons. I offer tuition in music composition and theory in 30-minute, 45-minute and 60-minute sessions. Everyone has different goals and interests, so if you're looking for something in particular, please do feel to contact me to discuss where you are in your musical journey.

Consultation
Thinking about becoming a composer? Want to do a doctoral degree but don't know where to start?

I offer 1-hour online consultations on how to get started on a career in composition or music research. A consultation can include discussing your options, next steps, how to search for schools, programmes and funding, how to write a research proposal and more.
